Based in Los Angeles, Nkenge 1x is a 2x BMI Film, TV, & Visual Media Award winning artist & composer. A classically trained musician, he began playing piano & drums at age six, growing up in the DMV. His style of music was developed through extensive study of many genres & elements of music.
While matriculating through Florida A&M University's music & computer engineering programs, Nkenge developed his recording, mix engineering, & live performance skills, while building a library of collaborations with local artists.
In 2013 he was recruited by Ye’s G.O.O.D. Music Label to write & produce for their emerging artists in Los Angeles, leading to collaborations with artists signed to other esteemed labels like Sony, & Warner Music Group.
In 2016, Nkenge met renowned composer Kurt Farquhar, & under his mentorship was taught intricacies of Composition, Music Supervision, & Music Library development for Film,TV, & Visual Media. In partnership with Kurt’s TrueMusic Pro library, Nkenge has placed original music & performances on platforms like TNT, BET, ABC, Lifetime, & feature films. He performed & co-wrote “The Neighborhood” theme song on CBS, & arranged “The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder” theme song on Disney +.
In 2023, Nkenge won his first BMI award for Film, TV, & Visual Media, & partnered with legendary Grammy award winning songwriter Harold Lilly Jr. to develop the HARDCOVER music library. In 2024 he won his second BMI award for Film, TV, & Visual Media. Entering 2025 Nkenge is preparing to launch the Everything 1x Music Library Network through his production company, Everything 1x, to help other creatives along the path to success.
